Garden Suburb Sign

In the late 1940's and early 1950's there were orchards on the western slopes towards Cardiff where oranges, peaches and lemons were grown. Market gardens were situated in the valley by the creek known as Tickhole Creek.

Today Garden Suburb has one park /recreational area and most households in the area are primarily couples with children. Garden Suburb has a local school, community hall and Aged Care Facility.

Garden Suburb is well located to access the areas of Cardiff and its mixed businesses and shopping district along with the sporting fields and facilities. New Lambton with Blackbutt reserve and picnic areas and Westfield Kotara and mixed businesses are also located only a short drive away so everything is close at hand.
